Serious Aprons: Stanley & Sons Apron & Bag Co.

Have you seen the hot new aprons? We heard about them from Tim at Lottie + Doof and went to look for ourselves. These heavy-duty aprons from Stanley & Sons are seriously good-looking, and seriously made from reclaimed fabrics and materials.

Tim's apron is pretty darn good-looking so we are a tiny bit jealous.

The Stanley & Sons aprons are all uniquely made and one-of-a-kind, though, made from reclaimed materials such as Army pup tents, conveyor belt canvas, and striped denim (our favorite). Stanley & Sons makes their canvas bags and aprons in Brooklyn, and sells them online and in a few select outlets in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The company was started in 2008 by Chris Grodzki, who was inspired by his grandfather Stanley's previous company: Apron & Bag Supply, which made factory aprons.

These aprons are made to order, and very lovely. There are no prices listed, but aprons start at about $120. Pricey, for an apron! But perhaps heirloom quality, and very ready to stand up to long-term use in the kitchen.
