Great recipes this month from Gourmet and Food & Wine - we're linking to our favorites.
We were ecstatic when we received Gourmet's special September issue: it's all about Latino America. The entire issue is devoted to the cuisines of Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador and other Latin American regions. We've already mentioned the stunning Coconut Rum Cake. With corn in season, we also liked Maize of Glory - from arepas to hominy, corn is well-used in Latin America. Gorgeous photos and good writing make this a no-miss issue for us.

Food & Wine's September issue online features a Watermelon and Arugula Salad with Walnuts that grabbed our attention right away. This month the magazine focuses on Italian and Mediterranean foods, holding on to the sunshine as long as possible.
