School might be out for summer, but not in these kitchens! Vintage schoolhouse style looks so cool and it's funny how often it can be applied to the kitchen. Take a look!
One way to get the look is with chalkboard paint in the old green color we remember from elementary school. Other approaches include metal chairs, vintage lamps, classroom clocks, and bulletin boards. We love taking lessons learned from schoolhouse style and applying them in the home and the kitchen above all seems a perfect place for it!

Martha Concrete Lam...

The combination of whimsical and industrial in the first photo is right up my alley. Wonder where I could find a door like that...
I, too, love that door. I've seen the pipe hardware (for hanging) in a local hardware store, and it was not very expensive. But that door has such character!
Me too lynell. I would try a junk yard or one of those vintage resale shops they're always talking about on Home Improvement Shows. I'm sure if you asked that question on Apartment therapy, they'd be able to help you. In fact, try searching barn doors or sliding barn doors and you'll get some good posts that might point you in the right direction.
I LOVE that first photo! I wish my pantry looked that amazing.
oh hey! we have a big chalkboard wall in our kitchen and it's PERFECT for grocery lists, menus, and anything else! here's a pic of mine (with my new love, design house of stockholm step ladder)

Sliding doors are really the coolest & a great way to close off a pantry. Dammit, now I have to rethink my kitchen redesign once again.
I love a good busty kitchen (in reference to image 1).
