Get ready to see a whole lot more Chobani Greek yogurt in schools across the country this fall.

The USDA has decided that Greek yogurt, with its high protein content, is an approved meat substitute for public school lunches.

Greek yogurt has been an approved alternative since 2013, but the partnership with Chobani will expand the number of schools that offer Greek yogurt as part of the school lunch program.

There were no financial details about the program released, but with the pilot program running in Idaho, New York, Arizona, and Tennessee, more than 200,000 pounds of Chobani Greek yogurt were consumed. We can only imagine the impact this will have on the company.
