After a disappointing search in finding a suitable cake stand for her own wedding, Sarah took matters into her own hands and created Sarah's Stands, an online shop featuring classic, colorful and customizable cake stands.
With the simple idea that a cake should have a stage on which to shine, Sarah's Cake Stands puts your cakes at the center of attention with a simple and classic design that looks great on the shelf or on the table. Sarah initially designed these stands with weddings in mind, but I bet they make beautiful displays for pretty much any baking project.

Wow pricey little buggers aren't they
@bluepuppybites - Word!
Wowzer. Reading the other comments I wanted to know how much they could cost, lets just say I was SHOCKED.
JEEZ! When you guys said pricey, I thought you meant into the $60 range....then I went to the site. You've GOT to be kidding me- $120 for a freaking cake stand? Not a lead crystal one mind you, but just a regular ole solid colored cake stand? Does it turn? Does it wake you up and make you breakfast? Because if it doesn't, then it's WAAAAAAY overpriced. #wontbepurchasing
The 22" one is $315!! Bahahaha.
They look like something that could be hacked with MDF and food-safe paint for about $20. Etsy?
Ummm yeah, those are way overpriced. The bigger ones costs more than my wedding cake did - and it was delicious AND gorgeous just sitting on the table.
My advice is to paint one you can find, if you can't find it in the color you want.
Or you could get a lovely colored glass one (including jadeite and vaseline) from Mosser Glass for around $50-$60.
Those are crazily overpriced! This is seriously ridiculous.
Geez, I wonder how we spent ourselves into a recession...
She has inspired me not to buy her creations but to make my own! Why spend all the money if we know we can create them and have fun while doing it!
This is Sarah from Sarah's Stands. Thank you all for checking out our cake stands. We made the choice to create our cake stands out of sustainable wood and to have them made in the USA. These factors, unfortunately, drive up the price but we feel it is important if we are to be socially responsible. If you have any questions, please email me at contact@sarahsstands.com.
Good cake stands are, unfortunately, expensive. I dare you to find nice contemporary ones that are significantly cheaper.
JRobards -- you need to start reading Krugman to brush up on your understanding of macroeconomics.
eh, I didn't come here to debate economics. You have your opinions and beliefs from what you've read, I've done the same and have mine. We're both probably right on some points and dead wrong on others.
while i am surprised by the price, if people want to burn their money on a one time use item, it's certainly their right to do so. i can appreciate the fact that she's obviously created some jobs here in the US and stimulating the economy in her area.
but honesty, is her stuff any more sustainable than going to an antique or thrift store, buying an old, solid cake stand and painting it? i don't care how 'sustainable' the maple is, you still have to cut down the tree. also, you're instructed not to cut directly on her stands plus a bakery will ALWAYS deliver your cake on a board so the 'foodsafe' paint element becomes moot. it's the same argument as what is better for the environment-a brand new Prius or a used Honda Civic that gets 40mpg??
Yowza, $120 for a 12" cake stand? No thanks.
What, your paying 315 Dollars and can't even cut on the cake stand?
Wow...hello, negativity. They're beautiful. Congratulations, Sarah, and best of luck!
Not very economical but they are presented very well and look adorable!
