San Francisco Farmer's Market Report: Crocker Galleria

The Crocker Galleria Farmer's Market is located downtown in the Financial District and is held every Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM. It's a really convenient farmer's market for people who work downtown and would like to be able to pick up some fresh produce, baked goods, and prepared foods during their lunch break. Here's what we saw this week ...

NEW ARRIVALS:
The first crops of California strawberries, English and sugar snap peas, edible flowers, fresh basil, baby artichokes, chioggia beets, and sugar beets.

IN SEASON:
Salad greens, baby spinach, fennel, pea shoots, sweet potato leaves, Chinese vegetables, daikon radishes, oranges, and Jerusalem artichokes.

LAST CHANCE:
Meyer lemons, carrots, parsnips, and pommelo.

OTHER STUFF:
Delicious baked goods, pastries, breads, smoked fish, smoked scallops, flowers, and Afghani food - bolani (flatbreads filled with meats and vegetables) with various spreads.
