These super-rich truffle treats have become a quick favorite for our family, and we know some of you already love them too. They couldn't be simpler to make with only three easy ingredients ...
Oreos. Cream cheese. Semi-sweet chocolate chips or squares.
That's all you need.
We've found that it's best to let the food processor do the heavy lifting for this recipe. Finely grind the Oreos in the processor (save a bit for decorating) and then add the softened cream cheese and pulse until it's well blended. All that's left is to roll the dough into small balls and dip in melted chocolate.
It's a bit of a messy process, but we've never seen a dessert disappear so quickly. They also make great gifts – just wrap four truffles in a small box.
For a minty alternative, try Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe-Joe's.

These sound super sweet and rich.
A friend of mine makes these. They are so popular she makes a double or triple batch for every party and they still disappear almost instantly.
These are fabulous. I dip them in almond bark tho. Yum!
wow these sound amazing. the candy cane joe-joes are so freaking addictive as well!
I love to do these with mint oreos and dip them in crushed candy canes. Or dip in melted peanut butter chips for a Reeses lover!
do have to temper the chocolate, or use a specific kind of chocolate? Every time I melt chocolate for a recipe like this I always end up with the grey film.
I am trying to do this now and the filling is way too soft. I'm sticking it in the fridge for awhile while the chocolate melts. Lets hope this makes rolling the balls easier.
I made these last year for a Christmas party, and they were gone within the hour.
The filling in mine seemed a bit oily (strange, since I used low fat Philly)... the balls have rolled OK, but the melted chocolate isn't coating as well as I'd like. The dipping sure takes a while! I can't wait to try one later >: )
I made these last might using crushed ginger snaps instead of oreos. I chilled the balls if filling for about 30 minutes before coating in dark chocolate. They are amazing!
YUM!! I made 2 batches of these. One batch with regular cream cheese and Oreos, and one batch with fat free cream cheese and reduced fat oreos, along with a chocolate mix somewhere around 50% semi-sweet chocolate, 35% 60percent cocoa, and 15% 100percent cocoa. they are DELISH! my fiance could not tell the difference! I'm putting them out for our office holiday party...we'll see what happens to them..
UPDATE: I got my plate back from our party, empty and I think somebody licked it!!
:D
I make these in both the peanut butter & mint variety (yup, oreos already come in both flavors!) They've become a favorite among my co-workers and its my ultimate go-to when potluck time rolls around.
I was looking for something to do while snowed in here in Portland. Oreo Truffles won me over, and I decided to give them out as cute little holiday gifts. Everybody love love loved them. Thanks!
i tried this and it's really hard without a food processor...in the blender just doesn't work and i tried smashing in a bag and that worked a bit better than the blender.
but i've made them for new years so we'll see how well they go over!
Thank you for such a simple, yummy recipe idea! You can't beat only 3 ingredients. I made them for New Year's Eve last night, and they were a hit! :)
