Q: My boyfriend just got back from a year in London, where he discovered fresh baked breads with lots of fillings at the local grocery store — veggies, nuts, etc. Now that he's back, he's disappointed in the bread selection. I'd like to make him some bread, and was hoping y'all might have some recipes!

Here are some giant puffy rosemary flatbreads you could stuff with anything you like! (french lentils and roasted mushrooms would be nice - or spinach, pine nuts and raisins)

And these flavored flatbreads are yummy - you could stuff them with blue cheese and walnuts, or olives and greens, anything you like, really!

Do you mean a Cornish pasty? I live in London and I have never seen bread stuffed with anything here. A pasty is a sort of folded over pastry thingee with stuff inside. They are widely available but very heavy and not too healthy.
What about stuffed cauliflower bread?

There's also spinach, cheese, and potato versions in the bread category of the same website.
Kathleen - I was thinking she might mean pasties, too! Or other types of savory pies. I have a vegetarian version of cornish pasties that's not too heavy. It's got turnips, potatoes, greens and cheddar...

I have a real fondness for savory pies big and small, so I have about a million recipes - little vegetarian "meat pies," empanadas, small tarts and galettes. The lastest I've made are these jerk patties with pigeon peas and kale...
