We are always on the lookout for good recipe cards, so when reader Elizabeth sent us these cards that she and her husband designed, we were excited. They are almost exactly what we are looking for in a recipe card!
They are simple, classic, and modern (no cutesy clip art) but the real strength of these recipe cards is that they're flexible. Elizabeth explains:
One of our main considerations for this design was to make it as flexible a format as possible. I know a lot of my family recipes are written more in paragraph form, and others don't have specifics like servings, etc. We wanted to make sure our design could accommodate for these kind of factors. We designed them in both 3x5 and 4x6 sizes after a quick survey of friends told us that people still use both sizes, and use them each pretty exclusively.
We really like how there is a clear space to write a title, and notes, and there is a light grid for those of us who can't write in a straight line, but overall they are open and flexible for writing a recipe in any way you want. Very nicely done!

Did I read this correctly? An index card that costs $1.50? And that's before shipping? And the problem with an index card from the local office-supply store is . . . ?
i have to agree. these are super cute, but i am constantly correcting or updating my recipes. i much prefer something that is done on my computer so someone else can actually read it!
besides i think it would be much more fun to design your own.
So pretty! I mostly use recipe cards to write down recipes to give other people, which these would be great for.
thanks so much for spreading the word!
Update: The prices on these recipe cards have changed!
a set of ten 3x5 are now $7 and ten 4x6 are $9
