Brooklyn, New York is filled with brownstones &mdash everywhere you look there's another amazing brownstone just waiting to be renovated and brought back to life. Rebecca found her diamond in the rough and filled it with a breath of fresh air.
Rebecca purchased this Brooklyn brownstone 14 years ago and fully planned on doing all of the renovations herself. She wanted the home to be uniquely her own, but life wasn't on the same page. Rebecca lost track of time and hope, so she called in the big guns &mdash Gita Nandan from Brooklyn’s Thread Collective.
It was extremely important to Rebecca to keep as many of the original details as possible, and Gina was right on board with that. There wasn't much of the kitchen that was salvageable, but Gina got creative and found ways to salvage pieces from other places. The marble countertops are actually a salvaged bench from Wall Street!
We find the bold and bright backsplash to be incredibly intriguing. The dark maple cabinets and white walls help to tame the boldness of the backsplash, but still let enough interest pop through to attract the eye. There's just something about greens and dark browns that just warm up a space.
