Reader Recipe: Turkish Cacik

This just in from Dido: "In Turkey, yogurt is an essential element in every summer lunch or dinner. We have so many refreshing recipes made with yogurt. This is my favorite one, because it is both so yummy and healthy. Cacik, which originated in Turkey, became famous in US, as Tzatziki by Greek people." Cacik 1 cup plain yogurt 2 small cucumbers, peeled and diced into small cubes 3 tablepsoons finely chopped walnuts (to give crunchy taste) 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh dill 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 clove of garlic, (minced in salt) 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil crushed red pepper, as a garnish whole walnuts, as a garnish Mix yogurt with cucumber, walnuts, dill, lemon juice, and garlic. Drizzle oil on top. To garnish, sprinkle crushed red pepper, and whole walnuts. Thanks, Dido! (photo: Turkish Kitchen, NYC)
