Yesterday we asked for photos and stories of your gardens. Here's our first submission, from reader Kelly. She says:

I had two new "firsts" this year: I planted my first garden; I got my first puppy. This is not a good combination.

In spite of my inexperience and Jack the beaglador's enthusiastic interest, the zucchini prevails – a lone plant is thriving amid the chaos. Above is a picture which, unfortunately, doesn't show the blossoms. I swear they're under there, though. I also have a lime tree in a big pot that is finally beginning to produce blooms (after two years). I'm very optimistic that mojitos are in my near future.
