It doesn't matter how old you are — the art of mixology and the physical act of busting out the shaker is fun! For those who don't consume alcohol, however, mixing up a drink just never seems as exciting. But why is that? Why not shake up a nonalcoholic drink just like a spiked sipper?

Instead of feeling left out at a party, get down and dirty with your inner Tom Cruise and make a mean cocktail with all the showmanship you can muster! Even if you're just going to be drinking a smooth iced tea, try mashing in some mint or fruit and giving it the same pizzazz you would something a little stronger.

There's no reason why you can't, and it's fun! Don't settle for lame, straight from the bottle drinks, go get your mix on! Shake, stir, mix, strain, pour, it's a great way to make a drink, especially if you're not into announcing that you're the only non-drinker at the party. If you're a guest somewhere else, sometimes it can be awkward to ask if there's an other option (to which you usually get handed a bottle of water).

Plus you'll find that you get the benefit of better flavor — mint macerated in a shaker with ice will give your drink a lot more flavor, for instance, than if it were simple swirled in with a straw.
