When I cut a bunch of tiny cherry tomatoes, sometimes I feel like Tom Hanks in the movie "Big" nibbling on an ear of baby corn in tiny bites, from one end to the other, just as one would eat a larger ear of corn—a little ridiculous! However, when you have to cut up a large batch of cherry tomatoes, Cara at Big Girls Small Kitchen has you covered with this smart tip!
Cara uses the flat lids from two pint-size plastic takeout containers and sandwiches a handful of cherry tomatoes between them. While pressing down on the top lid, she uses a serrated knife to slice between the containers. This allows her to cut 15 cherry tomatoes in the time it would usually take to slice one - genius! Check out Big Girls Small Kitchen to see her two step explanation with photos.

The tomatoes in that picture look awesome...I'm assuming some sort of balsamic dressing?
I learned that on one of the Food Network shows a few years ago. Last summer my new housemates were initially confused about why I had two random deli container tops. Then I demonstrated. Now they use them too. :-)
So unfair to not tell us how to make the tomatoes in that picture!! :) They look delicious!
Jathoa- Must just be a balsamic dresssing and shredded basil...the simpler the better with beautiful tomatoes.
I know I am splitting hairs, but those are not cherry tomatoes. They are "grape" tomatoes, a variety that has much better flavor, colsr and texture. Looks like they have been grilled and also looks like I could eat the whole plate!
