What a delicious idea for the refrigarator: Panel the doors in ornately-patterned pressed tin!
While this appears to be custom panels sized just right for a built-in Sub Zero, we bet the idea could be dumbed down (and cheapened up) for a do-it-yourself project. Old tin ceiling panels can be had pretty commonly at antique shops. Or, for DIY punched metal, thin tin sheets can be purchased at the right size. Punch your own design into them with a set of tin punches (an ice pick will do) and hammer, and seal it to prevent rusting.

Putting this on the list for the "someday house," in which I will have a nice big custom kitchen. :) Why try to hide the fridge with wood panels when you could make it into an art installation?
how would you recommend attaching the panels to the fridge?
this is a gorgeous idea, and i'm dying to implement
I expected, for a split second, not to like this, but then I looked at the picture and now I'm a convert.
What a great idea! Would it be possible to attach magnets to the back of the tin in order to keep it on the fridge? If so, I am going to try this is my apartment and hammer down/round off the edges so there are no sharp bits to get caught or cut on. They sell extra strong magnets and magnet strips at Home Depot, probably lots of hardware stores carry them. Might be worth a try.
