We love these mismatched yet coordinated napkins from Shopsin's General Store. We use our fabric napkins every day, and it would be fun to have a set that wasn't so easily stained, or that didn't need to get matched up with its mates.

The shop description says that the patterns of these particular napkins were "inspired by the layers of patterns in Edo period clothing" in Japan. We love the bright, rich colors, and the mismatch of patterns.

Find them: Edo Napkins, $48.50 for a set of six at Shopsin's General Store.

But surely you could do better than nearly $50 for a set; we think that these could be so easy to recreate. Pick out a few inexpensive fabric scraps; make some napkins. If you can sew, that is.
