I feel like I'm on a never-ending quest to find the best way to get my morning caffeination. I've tried pour over and moka pot; I've also skipped the whole home-brew ordeal and picked a cup up at the coffee shop on my way to the subway. For the past several years, I've been fairly loyal to the French press, even though I'm not always 100 percent happy with the way the coffee turns out.
That's why I was excited to try this new coffee press from Bobble, which falls somewhere between a French press and an Aeropress.
The Bobble Presse makes just the right amount of coffee, and it makes it really well in my estimation. The problem I've always had with my French press is that there's more grit in my cup than I would like. That might be a function of my grinder, but I didn't experience the grittiness with this mug. The stainless steel press and silicone gasket act more like an Aeropress than a French press, but without the fussy paper filters an Aeropress requires. And the best news is that it's all completely dishwasher-safe.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind if you're considering one. First, it won't fit in your cup holder. This isn't an issue if you work from home or take public transportation, but if you're driving, be warned. Second, the coffee stays really hot! If you want to drink your coffee soon, you'll want to pour it into a separate container.
