We've asked about your breakfast eating habits before, but now we want to know - what did you have for breakfast today?
A little inspiration is helpful this time of year. Do you find that you are are getting to the lunch hour and realizing you forgot to eat breakfast? We are - and that cup of coffee is not enough to fuel us happily through the morning. This is not good; it's healthier for your metabolism, your brain, and your general wellbeing to eat a real breakfast.
What with the snow and cold and holiday craziness, we might not always have time to make Extraordinary Blueberry Pancakes like this recipe from Whole Foods, but we can at least try for oatmeal.
So inspire us! What did you have for breakfast today?

I eat the same thing every weekday morning.
Every morning, I have an two egg cheese (mozarella) omelet (I remove one of the yolks) cooked in a nonstick pan with one tablespoon of butter. It's low in calories (about 200 calories), high in protein (15-20 g of protein), and tastes great. That, and two cups of coffee.
I used to cook my omelet with nonstick olive oil spray from Trader Joe's - but recently, I switched to butter. Makes all the difference in the world in terms of taste.
Egg sandwich (2 eggs, cheddar and bacon on whole wheat toast), cappuccino, grapefruit juice. I started craving bacon this week.
small oatmeal and handful of almonds. One day of the weekend I make a poached egg and toast with some cheese on the side.
We should also remember that we no longer go on the fields to work all day and have a big breakfast such as the English one that consists of two fried eggs, sausages, fried bacon, toast, blood pudding and such. Those are heart attacks served in a plate. Just watched Hitchcocks Frenzy a few weeks ago, and my jaw dropped - whoever eats breakfasts like that in this day and age, should not complain of any health problems :-) although in the movie was quite funny in a Hitchcockian way, bcs the guys' wife has decided to cook ala healthy and she makes pigs feet and other unedible things for dinner so the poor man - has to eat a good meal int he morning... :-)
A breakfast burrito (two eggs, sausage, some cheddar) with salsa from my favorite sandwich shop next door. I usually eat breakfast at home--fruit and oatmeal or some yogurt--but when I don't have time, their yummy breakfast burrito is easy to eat at my desk at work.
Usually I will have oatmeal with bananas and water or tea. No caffiene for me AT ALL. Today I had whole wheat bagel with butter and jelly and water.
I'm not a morning person-- I get up too late and am too sleepy to make good food, so I always just have a free-range boiled egg and a cup of dark drip. Your breakfasts sound great, though.
My usual breakfast:
Earl grey tea with milk (taken at home with all my supplements); oatmeal with raisins, made in milk (eaten while I'm on the metro)
OneWallKitchen - awesome, I've been making breakfast burritos alot lately. I usually use chicken sausage, gruyere cheese, and eggs. One can pack one of those little guys up and eat it at the desk after the gym...
I went all out this morning and made vegan french toast (a couple slices of french bread soaked in a soymilk/ chickpea flour mixture) with "apple pie sauce":
1 apple, cored, peeled, and chopped
1 teaspoon vegan butter
1/4 cup water
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoons turbinado sugar
1 tablespoon sliced almonds
Cook in a small saucpan over medium heat until apples have softened and sauce is syrupy.
I love coming up with new recipes on the spot... especially when they end up tasting like this.
I had a gingerbread cookie filled with apple butter and a glass of milk---these are the ones by Maury Rubin, very tasty. I often eat any leftover dessert for breakfast, its not so different from eating pancakes or something of that sort. With around 200 calories and 5g of fat, its a nice spicy start to the day.
I will answer my own question and say that I had sweet potato hash with an egg on top. YUM.
Since I've been so busy with full-time work and grad school, I've gotten into the habit of packing my breakfast along with my lunch. When I get to the office, I eat my quick breakfast while I go through my e-mails. Today was a simple onion bagel with cream cheese and a mug of green chai tea. Simple and delicious-- and thankfully I don't have any morning meetings where possible onion/chai breath might get to someone!

I eat the same breakfast every day - a shake made with plain nonfat Kefir, 2 scoops "Greens and Whey" protein powder (chocolate flavor), 1/4 cup oatmeal and some frozen fruit - a banana or this week, frozen rasperries. If I'm very hungry I may also add two finn crisp crackers with peanut butter. I'm trying very hard to eat more healthfully during the week, as on the weekends it all goes out the window.
I was running late so I just had a fair trade banana and some coffee (french pressed).
Funny you should ask; I made something different for breakfast today. Usually I just make oatmeal, but today it was a fried egg, ham, and grainy mustard (no cheese, I didn't have anything suitable) on a toasted english muffin, and some cherry tomatoes. And orange juice. Always orange juice.

I think they might be my new favorite bran muffin recipe - light and fluffy, and not too sweet.
Today was Erewon's Hot Barley Cereal, with a little skim milk and sliced prunes, and a glass of chocolate skim milk. The prunes are new for me, but i've gotta start incorporating more fruit into my diet. No wait, not prunes, but hip, fresh "dried plums."
Pop Tarts and black tea

Yesterday was oatmeal with apple and molasses.
A bit of crunchy high-fiber cereal and milk, a cup of red grapefruit juice, and then a clementine a bit later in the morning.
Wow, everyone is so heathful! I am off work today so my regular breakfast of yogurt and fruit went out the window. Instead had leftovers from dinner last night: tortillas with guacamole, black beans, and salsa. Maybe I should have breakfast for lunch? haha
Toast w/ butter and honey, and tea. I eat a sort of second breakfast as I'm leaving the house of warm milk and molasses. Most people think it's an odd combo, but I have to tell you that it's delicious, and healthy, too, especially if you use blackstrap.
Always: oatmeal with raisins and pecans. Plus a banana after I get to work. And coffee throughout. Which isn't working so well today - I need a shot of espresso of something.

I had a typical Indian breakfast dish: a savory upma, using bulgur rather than the more commonly used semolina.
A boring old English Muffin with butter, but it's my favorite breakfast in the world. And jasmine tea. Yesterday I had sourdough french toast, does that count for anything?
I've been having toast with ricotta and strawberry-rhubarb sauce/compote. I'm going to be so disappointed when I run out of the rhubarb I froze this season.

I normally leave the house with three things: a bottle of ensure, a mug of coffee and either some fruit leather or a granola bar. BUT - Friday's are my day off!!! So, today I had two slices of whole wheat toast with cinnamon sugar and three soft boiled eggs with a pot of french press (Intelligentsia El Diablo Dark Roast, to be exact).

I ran out of oatmeal today, so I had a bowl of organic honey nut "O"'s with nonfat organic milk and a small smoothie (juice, frozen berries, flaxseed and a banana). Might make muffins tomorrow a.m. but they won't last long enough to have them during the week.

Seeing as I was slightly hungover from the company Holiday party, my lovely bf walked over to the bagel shop and picked me up a blueberry bagel & cream cheese. Yummy.

You had to ask today, of all days! I had some leftover stuffing (no, no, not from Thanksgiving!) that was reheated in a dry skillet (certainly already had enough butter in it when it was made the first time) that was topped with a poached egg. Divine. I think I may prefer stuffing like this than in its more traditional forms.
This morning I had a poached egg and a glass of ruby red grapefruit juice. I initially had bigger plans for the egg - like maybe a poached egg sandwich with basil, cheese, and sun dried tomato, but opted to leave earlier than usual to avoid the post-snowstorm chaos.
Breakfast, breakfast... Oh, it's the food I serve my kid before he goes to school. What's this you say, I'm supposed to eat breakfast to?

I'm visiting my parents for the holidays, so I have time to make something more complicated than my business-as-usual bagel and coffee combo. This morning, it was a whole wheat waffle with cinnamon. Wasn't hungry again until dinner.
I hate mornings!!! That being said, my sweet fiancée made me toast around 11, but he offered pancakes...I just didn't have a taste for a sweet breakfast today
But while we're talking about breakfast, I totally recommend Kona Coast Macadamia Nut Pancake and Waffle Mix...$6.99 for a canister at Ralph's (or Kroger depending on where you live) but a local market here has it for $3.99
On the weekends we try for an English Breakfast, without the bangers.
Monday through Friday is about oatmeal and quick, healthy and easy. But the oatmeal is granola and oatmeal 1 to 1 ratio.

Buckwheat pancakes from the Bette's Diner mix (so good, so easy...) with plain yogurt, raspberries, and honey.
Today I had a smoothie for breakfast. I love them because they are quick, easy, and very nutritious! It helps me to get my daily fruit in as well. I usually make them with organic plain yogurt (about a cup), one organic banana, and toss in some organic frozen fruit (amount and kind varies). Blend it up! Delicious!! :)
I had the last slice of an apple and pear crostata, and it was delish. That was accompanied by a cup of chai with half & half and honey.
We made gooey, sticky cinnamon buns this morning as a Sunday morning treat.
