It's nice to bring a bottle of wine when you head out on your summer picnics and parties, but we don't always want to bring along the bottle. For starters, it can weigh your basket down and it also means using a full bottle. We spied a great way to bring opened bottles of wine anywhere you want, while keeping them safe and airtight...
Last week we made mention over at Ohdeedoh about a water bottle that's great on the go. It collapses down to pack away in a bag or purse and while checking into it, we discovered they make one for wine!
Wine on the go can feel restrictive and complicated, there's corks, or bottles and at minimum there's boxes, but the selection limits what is available for consumption. The PlatyPreserve makes wine on the go a bit simpler and keeps the air out while you travel. You can take as little or as much as you want, just make sure to squeeze the air out before attaching the lid.
It's leakproof, air tight and won't alter the taste of your favorite selections. It's a great way to use up the little bits of wine you might have lying around, just pack them up and take them to your next outdoor get together or picnic!

How cool! thanks for mentioning this.
Does this look like a blood bag to anyone else?
This might be more appetizing if it didn't look exactly like a bag of blood.
blood bag indeed. I went straight to TruBlood and can't get off.
this is a great idea though, just wish they had a different color or print on the outside!
I love it! Such a good idea! Way better than hauling a box of wine whenever you want a drink in a non-glass picnic area. And hey, if the "bag o' blood" look bothers you, just wrap a napkin around it. Solution!

Totally a bag of blood.
Now if only it were legal to drink in public... I'm jealous of you who can take wine on a picnic!
Perfect for backpacking.
Klean Kanteen makes a wine carafe that seems neat.
I've never watched True Blood, but these do not remind me of blood bags at all. At least, not the ones used by any hospitals I've ever seen.
Hahaha- As soon as I saw that I was taken back to my teenage years on the streets of Portland- I carried around a bag of wine in my backpack QUITE often...Oh, the days...It was always a bummer when some "authority" figure would slice it open and pour it out. *Shakes head*
Yep, blood bag. Reminds me of donating at the Red Cross.
To be honest, this is kinda stupid. It is not like a water bottle. You still have all the waste of the product.
Wine is one of the least green products on the market. Please buy locally and in alternative packaging. A tetrapak seems like a much better option for those drinking while "backpacking".
AMP, the Platyreserve is a reusable container, just like a Platypus water reservoir.
What about the classic Spanish bota? Durable, portable and reusable. No need for glasses, either!
I understand it is reusable...but each time you fill it, you are emptying another vessel. With a reusable water bottle, you are likely filling it from the faucet, bubbler, filter pitcher etc.
We've had a dedicated whiskey Platypus for years now, for long-haul backpacking trips, and it cannot be used for anything else; Platypuses are plastic, after all, and really retain the scent/flavor of what's been put in them. I wonder if these will do the same, which makes me think that they'd be difficult for wine snobs to use, since prior wine's essence may mingle with next wine . . . I like the tetrapaks, too.
"I understand it is reusable...but each time you fill it, you are emptying another vessel."
If you're going to buy a bottle of wine anywy, there is no more or less waste created by pouring it into the pouch, no?
-------------
I can just see the infomercial for this product..."look how easy the pouch fits in your purse! Now you can enjoy your favoriate wine anywere! At work, in the car, where will YOU take the Wino Pouch?"
True Blood anyone?
