Jenna's refuge from her troubled relationship is making pies. As she says, she invents them in her head – recipes like 'I Hate My Husband' Pie, and (after meeting the sweet and funny Dr. Pomatter) 'I Can't Have No Affair Because It's Wrong and I Don't Want Earl to Kill Me' Pie.

Strange as they may sound, Jenna's creations are actually quite tasty, and she's known by her fellow waitresses as a "pie genius." Ultimately, her pies help Jenna find happiness – although not necessarily in the way she expects.
