Ever tried peanut butter-stuffed jalapeño peppers? No? Why not?!
This idea is new to me, but apparently lots of folks have long been combining these two basic ingredients for a spicy snack. It definitely sounds like it would be worth a try, as that combo of creamy nuttiness and spicy snap go so well together in other dishes:
There are a few recipes out there. One simply involves halving the peppers, stuffing with peanut butter, and eating them raw. A hot rendition calls for baking or grilling after stuffing (yum!). Though we've never tried or heard of this, it doesn't seem so uncommon. We found lots of sources for this snack:
• Peanut Butter Jalapeño Poppers at eHow (pictured above)
• Peanut Butter-Stuffed Jalapeños at AllRecipes
• Jalapeños Stuffed with Peanut Butter at Cooks.com
And with some tweaks:
• Try it with crunchy peanut butter!
• Chocolate-Covered, Peanut Butter-Filled Jalapeños on Pretzel Sticks from Instructables
• Bacon-Wrapped Peanut Butter Jalapeños from AllRecipes
So we're wondering, have you had peanut butter-stuffed jalapeños? Any tips or recipes for those of us trying them out for the first time? Or if they're new to you, too, what do you think?

I've never heard of this. Sounds strange - I must try it! I have some dark chocolate peanut butter in the pantry right now...
Huh. I think peanut butter on celery is already weird.
I caught on to this combo years ago in high school. Got it from a Thai food obsessed English teacher.
However, you list this as a 'spicy' snack. I do not concur: I make sure I de-seed and de-vein my peppers. Maybe it's preference, but a fresh, mild, jalapeño taste is good enough for me.
I love bell peppers with peanut butter. I bet this would be just as tasty.
But my very favorite snack is dill pickles with a peanut butter smear. Yum!
I put tapatio on my PB sandwiches so I will def try this.
there is a place in seattle that serves "peanut butter and jelly poppers" - fresh jalapeno, stuffed with peanut butter and lightly fried and then drizzled with strawberry pepper jelly. SO good.
These benefit from a quick roast on the grill before stuffing. Another good stuffing is cream cheese with pineapple and cumin.
Why not?? How many reasons why not would you like? About 45 pop into my mind right away.
