Quick Facts
• Who wrote it: Karen Adler & Judith Fertig
• Who published it: Running Press
• Number of recipes: Over 100
• Other highlights: Pizza made on the grill is a life-changing experience. Don’t believe me? Then you have to promise me you’ll try it this summer. (Promise!) These ladies, Karen Adler and Judith Fertig, would certainly second my opinion — this entire book is an ode to all the incredible bread-based creations we can make on the grill.
Pizzas are definitely covered here — and not only recipes to try asap, but also best techniques, grilling on the grates vs. on a pizza stone, and all sorts of other handy info. Besides pizza, we get grilled versions of bruschetta, panini, focaccia, and all manner of stuffed breads (think: calzones). And while living on bread alone sounds lovely, I do appreciate that Karen and Judith include some fresh and light side dishes to serve with our grilled pizzas.
If you have a grill, pizzas definitely need to be on the menu this summer. Give me a call — I’ll bring the beers!
