Can a drawer interior look like autumn? We think this one does. We love its material palette of wicker, wood, and silver. It inspired us to look for more inspiringly beautiful, organized kitchen drawers and here's what we came up with:
From that beautiful wicker basket-lined drawer at A Country Farmhouse to how-to's from Martha Stewart Living and Lapsus Humanus (previously featured on The Kitchn), these examples make us want to get busy on our own kitchen cutlery and utensil drawers.
What's the status on the organization of your kitchen drawers? Might they be a detail to tackle in the upcoming Kitchen Cure?

help! i just got my apartment kitchen renovated, and the contractors left me without a utensil drawer (or any drawers for that matter). any advice on storing utensils/dish towels would be greatly appreciated!
libbysal - can you fit some sort of standalone island with a drawer or two attached? (IKEA has some nice ones. I had the Norden occasional table in my old house, which added much needed counter and drawer space.)
If not, they have small drawer units that you might be able to put on your counter to hold your silverware. The ones that come to mind most quickly are plastic rubbermade ones...something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Newell-Rubbermaid-Black-Drawer-3B0100BLA/dp/B000SB31O8/ref=sr_1_cc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286829375&sr=1-1-catcorr
It's definitely not the best solution, and wouldn't look all that pretty, but it would give you drawers.
Finally, if you've got some space, you could always get some jars/pots/cups and keep your cutlery in a set of those, much like folks do with utensils.
Hey wait a second, all I need for an organized drawer is a cute little basket?? Thank you for posting this :)
Shoot, if I had drawers big enough to get messy, I might need this organization! I have the basic forks/knives/spoons in a drawer and the rest are hung around the kitchen.
unfortunately, i live in new york, so space is limited (my kitchen is about 7x7). i suppose some cups or jars would be my best bet, thanks!
Oh wow...thank you for this! We just remodeled our kitchen and we have much bigger drawers now. These ideas totally beat having all my look utensils sliding to the back of the drawer!!
