How's the Kitchen Cure going? Is your kitchen now neat as a pin? Or do you feel woefully behind? If it's the latter — don't give up! Just do what you can this weekend; just a half hour of purging old supplies and straightening up a utensil drawer can be enough to make you feel refreshed in your space. If you're tackling a bigger project, here's some inspiration from Sara in Washington, who turned an under-utilized closet into a pantry. Read on to see AFTER photos of her great pantry!
Here's what Sara says about the project:
Had an unattractive closet right next to the kitchen and turned it into a small pantry. We used hemlock to finish off the ends of the shelfs and built the rest with thick plywood. I think we are going to add another shelf but overall I'm happy!
Wow! What a difference both visually and functionally. We love the jars all lined up, and the way that those shelves really improve the closet. Great job, Sara!
Whether you're improving a closet or cupboard like Sara, or just cleaning out your spice drawer, take a moment tonight or tomorrow and give your own kitchen a Cure check-in! What's your next step?

very nice! wish i had one of those :)
still, you could use the space better by shortening the distance between shelves. if you know cans will almost always be there, make 6" high (or whatever) shelves for them specifically! or, buy some of those tiers from container store. there's just a lot of unused space there.
Thanks for the feedback kdkaboom. I think we are going to add some more shelves in there. At least one more anyways for cans like you mentioned. We had no idea what we were doing..haha..so dealing with a learning curve for sure.

Love the idea.
Looking at the bottles of jams/pickles/condiments made me realise that having labels on the lids would save having to pull out the front ones to see what is in the ones behind. Of course, this requires enough head room to look in at the tops of the rear bottles so you might want to not install extra shelves.
