We only had a turkey breast, so we're not inundated with leftovers - cold turkey sandwiches should finish off the leftovers before the weekend is over.
The only leftover I got from my mom's was the turkey carcass. I'm making stock.
Tonight is a birthday party with a Russian theme for a friend, I'm excited. I'm heading to the Asian Market to pick up "caviar" aka roe.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving #2 with friends. I'm in charge of Cranberries and Brussel Sprouts. Easy peasy.
A few years ago, my friends (we're in our 20s) started a Sunday-after-Thanksgiving potluck tradition. It's changed locations, but I look forward to it every year, celebrating with my other family.
i'm turning the butternut squash puree into soup. but tonight is pizza. :)
We made sheperd's pie - tossed leftover green beans with a pack of frozen vegetables, shredded turkey and a little gravy, topped it with leftover mashed potatoes and baked it off for 30-40 minutes. Making MORE comfort food from the ultimate day of comfort food...
Christianne, what a good idea! Now maybe I know how to revive some slightly soggy broccolli.
I have no leftovers! Tonight will be sushi...yum
The problem w/ having thanksgiving at someone else's house is that there are no leftovers! We did get sent home with some pumpkin pie, but no turkey/stuffing/mashed potatoe goodness....
we're doggedly finishing off the cranberry tart for breakfast- yum. My big project is a rosewater/almond souffle for a friend's birthday on Monday.
I've made turkey sandwiches with homemade bread, brie, and cranberry. I also made a burritto today with leftover turkey and tonight's dinner is a Greek salad with shredded turkey, feta, olives, beets, and pepperoncini (sp?).
