can anyone recommend a good toaster oven? priorities: #1 small footprint- don't need roast a turkey for 12. just make toast and heat up sandwiches, etc. don't want anything that takes up too much room on the counter.
#2 functionality - liked my old GE 20 yr old toaster oven (which just died) because once it was set, i just left it and only had to push one button to toast.
I have a DeLonghi and love it. But I don't know the cost; it was a gift.
2T - thanks. i should have checked the archive.
I did a search for persimmons and really only came up with salad recipes; I have 4 beautiful ones from my CSA just sitting there and I have no idea what to do with them. Should I just eat them raw (I've never had them before), or is there a great recipe I need to know??
persimmons are great raw (whether or not to peel is a personal preference) as long as they're ripe. if they're not ripe, they're astringent, but apparently popping them in the oven for 5-10 minutes at 350 makes them good (i've never had the raw problem, since my chinese mother knows how to buy them).
I am planning a Thanksgiving weekend party, casual, open-house with a buffet out the whole time. Even though it is post-Thanksgiving, I want to keep the fall flavors happening. Can anyone recommend semi-easy hot or cold dishes and/or finger foods that I can use -- I seem to be coming up short on ideas.
