- What makes your small kitchen so cool?
- What makes my kitchen SO cool is that its cozy and comfortable. Given it's completely renovated doesn't hurt either ; ) It's a small kitchen but it has a window and gets a lot of light. I love waking up to that wonderful "morning glow" as the Folgers coffee theme begins my day just right :)
- Describe a challenge you've overcome or a smart resource you've found for your kitchen.
- The biggest challenge was fitting everything into this 50 square foot kitchen while not making it seem too dark or crowded or feel even smaller. Finding the right size appliances and still getting the quality... and the look of quality in such a small space was a bit daunting. I went with an Ikea kitchen to save some money but I picked higher end appliances to help balance out the overall feel of the kitchen.
- What's your favorite meal to cook here?
- Oh boy, I'm gonna pay for this one but I would have to say Pita Pizza! Whole wheat Pita bread with delicious tomato sauce and Mozarella. Add whatever toppings your little heart desires and in less than 15 minutes you'll have a round belly and the smile of the Grinch to match.

Would love to know what fridge that is! thanks:)
I love it!!!
Great kitchen! It's a shame that it was just posted on the website last night. I think it would have stood a good chance of winning if more people would have gotten the chance to see it. :(
Why aren't all kitchens posted at the same time so that everyone has the same chance?
Olie love the kitchen :}
how do i vote for this kitchen?
-MAKER.WHITNEYG - Its a GE Bottom Freezer, Model number GBC12IAX. Sadly its been discontinued since but an overall great fridge especially for small kitchens.
- CRIST- Just click on the heart icon above to add to vote :)
I'm not bitter but how does anyone who's submission is finally posted at the very end of this contest have a fair chance to win if it ends before he or she has a fair amount of time to earn votes? Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of the voting contest?
Very nice and flowy!
Love the clean lines and the color of the cabinetry keeps it light and open. Great choice!
Gorgeous for such a small one. I love stainless steel and a window is a MUST. Hope you win:)
This is a really nice kitchen. As someone who's thinking about a renovation in a small area, this definitely provides some ideas. BTW: What kind of countertops (are they concrete?) and what kind of range? Thanks!
Something I've been dying to ask about on these kitchen posts: is it not a problem, having so little space on one side of the sink?? There are only a few inches to the left, so where do you stack the dirty dishes? This seems to be all over AT: newly-renovated kitchens with one sink that's butted right up against a wall on one side.
I know you can put them in the sink, but...there's only one sink. So it'd fill up pretty quick, and then you can't get a pot under the spout, and...I don't know. It seems highly impractical.
Ditto the soft, thick grey mat in the kitchen. Nothing but hard surfaces in a food prep area, for me.
Note: not criticisms, just questions. Gorgeous kitchen!!
The countertops are Ceasarstone Quartz and the color is called "Raven" The benefits about ceasarstone are: You never have to seal it like Granite - its not a porous material, It's also stronger than granite and marble and comes in many colors and patterns. The range is a 24" Bertazzoni and can be purchased in some Home Depot locations in various sizes, 24 being the smallest, hope I was helpful :)

- The kitchen is pretty small at less than 50 square feet so I was limited with how much I can fit. I don't let dishes pile up in the sink so its never really been a problem. I usually wash them once done and then I don't have to worry about space, dirty dishes or any surprise visitors
@Olisquall: Thanks :). I get it, but I still think it would bug me. I live alone and do the dishes once or twice a day, but I also cook from scratch a lot, and cook for guests. That said, I've never been working with your space restrictions, so - great job.
Love how this space was used. Nice Fridge!
The small space has been beautifully used. I especially like the task lighting above the stove top and the plaque that says Keep Calm and Carry on.
Love this kitchen! So elegant and understated!
very nicely put together!
Really beautiful and very efficient. Nicely done!
Wow! What a great kitchen! I love the tiled back splash. It really lightens up the dark cabinets and countertop.
You're oven looks excellent! What brand is it?
I absolutely love this kitchen. The appliances, cabinets and floors work so well together. For such a small space they did a "big" job. This is my favorite of all the kitchens!!
What I loved best, aside from the kitchen itself, which is absolutely lovely, is the Vegeta can on the stove. Yay for another Vegeta fan!
@OLISQUALL thanks!
I love your kitchen!
