October is actually a very good month to celebrate pizza. Tomatoes are still in season, as are many other harvest vegetables; shaved zucchini is one of my favorite pizza toppings.
Yet there's a snap in the air that makes a warm slice and its gooey tether of cheese sound mighty good and the idea of heating your oven as hot as it will go not so bad. I have been learning that a hot, hot, hot oven is the second thing you need to make a great pizza - right after the perfect dough for the perfect crust.
I'm still working on this, but I'd like to celebrate Pizza Month in my kitchen as much as possible. What kind of pizza will you make this month?
