This small greenmarket in the Rockefeller Center Plaza is only open for July, August, and October. Stop by for some apricots (see photos, below) if you can fight your way through the crowds there to see Matt Lauer... The vendors are few — and biggies, like Migliorelli Farms and Red Jacket Orchards — but it's a great source for people who work in Midtown and can't get down to Union Square during the busy week.
We noticed lots of people buying a peach or two, maybe a small handful of cherries, for lunch. And what a great way for tourists (and whoa, are there a lot of tourists in Rock Center) to see a more rural side of our urban jungle.
