Come sample some great food and meet the people who make it. They'll be serving cold beer, grilled burgers by Fleisher's Grass Fed and Organic Meats, raw milk cheeses by Jasper Hill Farm, Roger Repohl's honey, Gorilla coffee, and Wheelhouse pickles. All will be available for sale and sampling. This free event will be held from 1-7 p.m. on July 7 at East River Bar, 97 S. 6th St., between Bedford and Berry in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. • Fancy Food Show: The 53rd annual Fancy Food Show runs from July 8-10 at the Javits Center. • American Cheese Summit: Join Jeff Roberts, author of the just published, "The Atlas of American Artisan Cheese", as he celebrates the American landscape of farmstead and artisan cheeses with a panel of cheese makers. 6 p.m. on July 7 at the Neighborhood Preservation Center, 232 E. 11th St. Cost is $40. • A Taste of Thai: Learn to use Thai ingredients to prepare Satay, Tom Ka Gai, Chicken Green Curry, Coconut Rice and Banana Coconut Tart. Class is held at 6:30 p.m. on July 10 at CAMAJE, 85 MacDougal St. Class is $85. • Food Book Club: The Brooklyn Kitchen's food-related book club will discuss M.F.K. Fisher's translation of the 1825 cooking classic The Physiology of Taste by Brillat-Savarin. The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on July 26 at the store, 616 Lorimer St., Brooklyn. • Slow Food Weekend Sleep-Away: Slow Food is runnnig a weekend in the Saratoga area including artisan workshops, an al fresco dinner, and a farm breakfast.
