We know Le Creuset for their colorful Dutch ovens. This summer Le Creuset is introducing a line of stainless steel cookware. We got a quick preview last week.
The line has an aluminum core between layers of stainless steel. The helper handles double as a lid rest. This stainless cookware comes with a lifetime warranty; the nonstick has a 10 year warranty. The line is priced slightly lower than All Clad: chef's pan is $160 and the 11 inch fry pan is $100.
This line launched first in the UK. After a few tweaks, the line is now making its way into the US market. We're hoping to get this into our test kitchen soon and give it a try. If you've already tried these pots and pans, let us know what you think.

I hope that they have a small pot with a lip and handle. I own the AllClad stainless steel line and I hate it that they would design a pot with a straight lip, not a curved one. The frying and sauteing pan have the lip curved, but not the pots, which I think it is annoying especially for a small pot when you cook liquid and want to pour the liquid out...
Great point, Anusha. These saucepans do have what they are calling "precision pour" lips to fight spills and drips. My AllClad doesn't have that either. We'll let you know how it works out when we test it.
My guess is that these are coming out to work with induction cooking which is very hot now, pardon the pun. I could be wrong, but I've seen a lot of new cookware for induction lately, and ss, made a certain way, works well with induction cooking.
Hi Susan, I checked in with Le Creuset on this. Yep, "will absolutely work just as well on an induction stove as any
other" they told us this morning.
Cool! I love when I'm right and hate when I'm wrong, lol!
There's an 8-piece set that's all over the net for around $449. It's described as:

http://www.shopnbc.com has what they call an 11-piece set, which appears to be the very same 8-piece set with 3 silicone mats which are counter protectors. But it's only $283.42! Shows a retail value of $658, a regular price $449, and this sale price of $283.42. Free shipping and handling, too.
I was able to upgrade to 2-day shipping for $20!
These are for use with my soon-to-be-delivered GE Profile freestanding Induction Range that I got at a great deal at BestBuy.com. $2,300!
