The Printed Blog launched today in Chicago and we were pleased to find a recipe in the first issue. A Bourbon Hot Tea Toddy from Cloves and Cream sure sounded good as we shivered on the train platform.
The Printed Blog compiles content submitted from various blogs into a twice-daily printed edition. The paper says it plans to publish "hundreds or even thousands of highly localized editions based on what a community declares is important to them."
We picked up a free copy at the Belmont Red Line stop on Chicago's north side. The paper also launched in San Francisco today. We think it's an interesting concept and we're anxious to see how it evolves.
But back to that Bourbon Hot Tea Toddy. Laura from Cloves and Cream combines Irish Breakfast or Earl Grey tea with bourbon, cinnamon, honey, and lemon and clementine juice. It sounds perfect for a cold January evening. (That's just plain Earl Grey in our morning mug, however).
Our edition also included a plea to end the cupcake craze and a rant against the institution of going out for brunch. In response to the latter, may we suggest a browse through our archive of homemade brunch posts?
