Le Creuset is working in shades of blue this year — remember this purple-blue gorgeousness? Here's their latest release, a rich blue indigo for Sur La Table. Have a peek at the whole collection!
Yes, I know that gushing over Le Creuset is an easy excuse for a post, but hey — this stuff is just lovely. I'm really digging these rich blue colors — you?

Beautiful! It will go quite nicely with the flame I already have :) Now I know what to ask for my birthday....
I just bought that lidded frying pan. Amazing, it's big enough to roast a chicken in and looks so lovely. AND Sur La Table had it on sale for 149.00. A steal.
Pretty! I got the 3 1/2 qt dutch oven in Aubergine for Christmas and it's beautiful.
To me this doesn't feel much different than Cobalt.
Cobalt is often a green-blue instead of a red-blue; when it comes to ceramics and plastics. To a lover of blue, this is a huge hue difference and where I shied away from their cobalt, I find this utterly stunning.
It's lovely, but I still prefer the orangey-flame and the lemony-green for my kitchen.
A bit off topic, but can anyone say what exactly is the quality difference is between Lodge and Le Creuset (aside from price)? How are their dutch ovens made differently?
Maybe it is the lighting, but it looks to me just like the cobalt, which has been around for years.
I love Le Creuset; I have lots of it.
I was thinking it looked like the cobalt my mother had when I was growing up. Gorgeous! (And made me sad yet again that an ex of mine made off with my mom's whole set... that she'd given me for my first apartment).
I heard from a store clerk recently that Cobalt is being phased out. Perhaps this is its replacement?
i agree with prudencem.
normally there is a much larger colour difference evident between cobalt and indigo.
I am thrilled, Indigo is a richer, deeper blue than the cobalt. I have both, and paid dearly for some of my indigo pieces because they had discontinued it. I am ecstatic that they have brought it back. I hope that they bring all they additional pieces with it. I was even thinking of selling my cobalt pieces that I can replace with indigo on Craig's list or on EBAY..
I picked up the lidded Le Creuset deep saute pan in cherry, on a one day sale before Christmas for $99.00! My first Le Creuset. It's 3 3/4 qts., a great size for empty nesters. Perfect for roasts, oven cooked beans, chicken, baked ziti. Don't use it for saute, but a smaller, easy lift dutch oven. Love the long handle for hoisting it around. The new Indigo color is beautiful.
