We know how much you all love Le Creuset so we had to point out their new color for fall. In my personal opinion it's one of the best new colors they've released in a while.
Le Creuset went in the purple direction a year or two ago with their Lilac and Cassis colorways, and I know those were very popular with many of you. But I was not a huge fan of their next major color, Fennel. It felt a little anemic to me. I really prefer their bolder black and white colorways.
So this new Aubergine color is the first one in a while that makes me wonder whether I should add another Le Creuset piece to my collection. It's not royal eggplant purple, as you might guess from the name; it's actually a very deep purplish blue. I haven't seen it person yet, but I plan to soon.
This is currently a color exclusive to Williams-Sonoma. What do you think of it? Does it tempt you? Or do you prefer other, brighter colors?

I love it. Very classy. White is gorgeous, my MIL has a whole set, and stews and casseroles look amazing on the table in them. I have several hand-me-downs in the Flame color, which I love -- but this new one is fantastic. Really, really nice.
Galloping groundhogs, that is beautiful.
Best. Color. Ever.
Oh man I might like this better than my cassis. I guess you can never have too many le creusets though
I want it!
Aubergine? Looks dark blue...though i wouldn't say no if someone offered it to me, my all-time favorite is powder blue...the big oval one!
Very classy while being colorful. Personally I like Cassis better, but I'm just happy overall that my favorite color is making a comeback of sorts. Sooo many things are available in eggplant now, it's wonderful!
I love this; glad I haven't ordered any Cassis yet. I hope they're offering this in a wide variety of pots and utensils.
Beautiful! BTW, what's cooking in that top photo, it's making my mouth water.
very nice color but I wish I had white only instead of flame and yellow.
Wow. That is totally going on my Christmas list!!
Love the color. what is the recipe? Looks so good!
Darn. I'm slowly building a colorful Le Creuset collection (have items in Flame, Cherry, Hunter Green, Dijon, and Cassis). I told myself that my next piece has to either be white or Cobalt blue but I'm wishing I didn't have purple already.
Dear Santa,
Please bring me one new Le Creuset pan in Aubergine this year for Christmas. I have been a very good girl.
I want to know what the dish in the pot is, too! It looks delicious! Any ideas?
I have a few pieces in Indigo from the outlet store; love the color - it looks very similar.
I saw it today at Williams Sonoma, definitely more purple than the picture shows. Looks great, though! I finally bought my first piece of LC ... a 3 1/2 qt braiser in Black Onyx at the outlet. 40% off sale going on this month!!! (But, only one piece per person.) Bought the stainless knob for $9, looks very classy! I figure that piece can multi-task as a braiser, 12" skillet, and a large casserole, too.
this is really interesting, bcs I own this same color for at least 5 years, (in oval deep 6quart or smth like that) I bought it at William Sonoma NYC 5 years ago. It doesn't have the gradient that the usual LeCreuset have, and I have been looking for another piece with a BOLD red/orange color without gradient. I decided to buy the staub orange/red tea kettle instead. So now the blue Le Creuset, the mustard le Creuset (not too obvious the gradient effect) and the orange staub, intermingle on my cooktop - they look good, and they are work horses... Now I use only the smalled all clads for small jobs.
