This morning at House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year event at Rockefeller Center (more on that soon) I spotted this gorgeous cobalt blue sink by Kohler. Turns out it's one of four new colors designed by Jonathan Adler for Kohler's enameled cast iron kitchen sink models. They're all beautiful, too! Check out the other colors below:

The four colors—Piccadilly Yellow, Greenwich Green, Palermo Blue and Annapolis Navy—are available on three different Kohler kitchen sink styles: the Whitehaven ($1,795), the Riverby ($1,395), and the Iron/Tones ($1,295).

Greenwich Green by Jonathan Adler for Kohler
- Greenwich Green: Intended to capture the beauty of the perfectly manicured lawns of an English Estate. As Jonathan Adler says, "This is not dull avocado green... It's bolder, yet timeless. So crisp and refreshing you can taste it."
- Piccadilly Yellow: Meant to evoke the riot of colors from London's Piccadilly Circus. Adler says: "There's a very mod quality to Piccadilly yellow, especially when paired with white. It's unexpected and will always feel fresh."
- Palermo Blue: Calls to mind the Mediterranean Sea where it opens before the city of Palermo on Sicily. Light, crisp, and "cool and refreshing," as Adler says.
- Annapolis Navy: This classic blue is inspired by Maryland's Severn River. Adler says it "epitomizes nautical chic" and "pairs so well with other bold colors."

Straw Mat from The ...

I bookmarked these last week for when I can afford a kitchen remodel--totally in love!
The Annapolis Navy is such a gorgeous color.
While I do love some of these colours (especially the Annapolis Navy), and I like the design, I would really hesitate to purchase one of these Kohler sinks. I used the link in the article and went over to the Kohler site and watched the video clips of Mr. Adler talking about these colours, and had a flash of someone 50 years ago saying (probably) exactly the same thing about the Harvest Gold and Avocado Green ("So fresh! So timeless!") applicances and fixtures that are now littering the landfills and being yanked out of countless home renovations. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer, but I think I'll save these bold colours for paint in the kitchen rather than hard fixtures ...
Just what I was thinking, Mary Frances!
When we bought our house it had a navy blue bathroom suite (complete with gold taps). The worst thing was the hard water stains.
I nearly fell out seeing my favorite shade of blue in a sink! All of these would be beautiful in one of the ever-so-popular all white kitchens. And I'd get to touch it everyday-which is one of the things about color for those scared to make the leap of painting walls-put your favorite color where you will enjoy it, touch it, see it everyday.
