Yesterday I checked out the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, an annual trade show highlighting what's new in design. It's not a kitchen-focused show, but I like going to see what's exciting for the dining room. A big reveal at this year's show was the brand-new Stockholm dining table and chairs from IKEA, made of walnut and due in stores in August! See more photos below:
The Stockholm dining set is a sweet new addition to IKEA's dining line, inspired by furniture from the 50s and 60s. It's actually the fourth iteration of the Stockholm line, which had previous collections launched in 1984, 1989 and 2006. Like those collections, the new dining set has a "a nod to nature," as they say, with organic color schemes, shapes and textures.
The armrests on the dining chair are built at an angle, so they fit perfectly under the table.
The Stockholm dining table will sell for $599, the walnut chairs for $139, and the green chairs for $119. Look for them in stores stateside in August!
