A beautiful wooden tray or platter is an entertaining staple. You can use one to serve appetizers, display glasses alongside a pitcher of cool iced tea, or serve breakfast in bed! I love the look of walnut, too — even more so when it’s rimmed in a bright, neon color, like these WUD trays and platters by David Rasmussen.

1 / 5

David Rasmussen makes wood furniture and goods out of his studio in Colorado. I first discovered his work on Fab, but since looking around the web, have found his trays all over the place, including the MOMA store. David draws inspiration from modern Danish design, evident in his WUD plate series, which he calls “functional table art.”

The trays come in five sizes and start around $40. Each plate is carved with a CNC router, covered in a food-safe oil, and finished by hand — a beautiful piece that will last for years!
