Here's a taste of newspaper food sections around the country this week.

In Washington, D.C. they take a look at in-season salmon, summer squash and cool salads. They also have grilled Parisian lamb chops with roasted garlic and cherry tomatoes on a bed of eggplant puree.

In California the San Francisco Chronicle has a feature on summer chowders. They also focus on breakfast, with recipes for plain omelet and Very Important Breakfast Potatoes. For dessert? Summer's Fruit and Cornmeal Cake.

In Washington state, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer has Decadent Iced Coffee and White Tea Sangria, which sounds very good right now. They also offer some suggestions on poaching liquids and a recipe for Broiled Fish with Israeli Couscous Pilaf & Corn.

In Utah they take a trip to Spain and Spanish vineyards with an in-depth look at lesser-known and very affordable Spanish wines. They also feature in-season peaches and Garden Shrimp Pasta.
