What's going on in kitchens around the country this week? Take a look at some major newspaper food sections and find out.

The Washington Times is full of great recipes this week, ranging from Moroccan tagines to buttermilk scones to crabcakes with avocado salsa. Also, don't miss Mollie Katzen's peach pudding cake.

In California the San Francisco Chronicle does a quick and dirty version of red beans and rice. They also discuss the quality of frozen blueberries and make fava bean bruschetta and clams tarragon.

In Pennsylvania they look at lovely leeks with recipes for braised leeks and mussels with leeks and white wine. They tell the story of The Silver Palate's famous Chicken Marbella and recommend pancakes and eggs for Mother's Day brunch.

The Salt Lake Tribune continues talking about homemade pet food, with several recipes for food for both dogs and cats. They also look at collard greens, now in season.
