Hint: They do not belong in a dentist's office, but they do go in your mouth!
Turns out they go in your drink (and your milkshake) too. They're great for slurping up your drink, then using the spoon end to scoop up the ice that's left. Or vice versa: use the spoon to eat your ice cream then drink up the rest of your root beer float. These would be especially nice for icy, fruity drinks like agua fresca.
We were introduced to the spoon straw at New York City's speakeasy-styled cocktail joint Little Branch. You can find the spoon straws online, but it's even more fun to get them directly from the source. Little Branch sells the spoon straws for two dollars each.
• Available online at Kegworks - $9.95 for a set of four.

i have these! i found an unopened package of them at a thrift store several years ago. they're great!
Be careful slurping, those kind of round spoons can put an embarrassing round hickey on the top of your lip, uh.. or so I've heard.
Also available at your nearest 7-Eleven, now in red plastic! ;D
In Denmark are used when serving irish coffe.
I just used one at Little Branch last week, they were great. Although the metal against your teeth is an odd feeling...
My grandmother has had a set of these for as long as I can remember (in case anyone thought they were a new invention). We always used them for hot cocoa with whipped cream. ;D
