The Super Bowl is this Sunday. Did you know? I would have no idea, because football isn't exactly my favorite, but for the fact that I love a good Super Bowl party menu. We don't have a television, but if you invite me to your place, I'll bring the sausage balls!
One time, as I shoveled my tenth or twelfth into my mouth, it dawned on me that each ball was like a tiny, neatly packaged sausage biscuit, perfect for a casual brunch.
Sausage balls are a family favorite. My oldest son is the biggest fan, and he requested them last year for his church group Super Bowl party. I obliged, of course, because I can't say no when someone goes on and on about what a brilliant cook I am. He's a smart young man.
Now that I've decided they're perfect for brunch, I don't even need football as an excuse to make them. This could be dangerous. After all, they're so easy, they don't even really require a recipe. Mine have sausage, Bisquick and cheese. I've tried other recipes that include fancier ingredients, but they're never an improvement.
Want my recipe? I once wrote a slightly less than tasteful column about how to make them for our local alternative weekly. I'm not proud of the obvious puns, but it is what it is!

Will you be going somewhere to watch the Super Bowl or having people over to your place? What's your favorite Super Bowl dish? Are you pulling for one of the teams or are you just in it for the snacks?
