It's been a very enjoyable learning process. Some veggies have been more successful than others, and now I know a lot more about what works in this area and what doesn't. And I love how peaceful the garden is and how friendly my neighbor gardeners are. I'm looking forward to keeping this plot going for years to come.
How did you create it? In December and January I pored over seed catalogs and made lists and maps in Excel of what I was going to plant where. I've chronicled the ongoing progress of the garden on my food and garden blog:
&bulll Gradually Greener.
Recommended store, site, product or resource? I bought many of my seed packets at Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, which specializes in heirloom seeds adapted for the Mid-Atlantic region. Since they are based only a couple of hours from DC, I know their varieties are likely to work well in my garden!
