The first weekend we concentrated on removing all the grass, tilling the soil and making the ground as level as possible. Then my husband built three raised beds. We filled the beds with compost and soil and then with vegetable and herb seedlings. To help keep the grass from growing back we covered the ground with newspaper and then topped that with small rocks.
With the limited space and wanting to include as much variety as possible we also have fruit trees, kept in containers, to further add to the wonderful produce we can pick fresh from the garden.
