I'll be honest: I love cooking for dinner parties, but I'm a complete dunce when it comes to actually serving the food in any sort of elegant or dignified manner. Lucky for me, these pasta bowls from CB2 do most of the work for me.
I am a huge proponent of white serving dishes. As much as I may swoon over the patterned dishware at Anthropologie or the splashy colors of fiestaware, I think that food just looks better on white. It's simple. It shows off the food. It works.
But white doesn't have to mean boring. I love the swooped contours of these CB2 bowls. They're pleasing to look at and give something a little different than the standard circular bowl. The bowls also seem to bring an automatic touch of class to my dinner table.
I've also found that these bowls are really easy to pass around the table. The two pasta bowls I have are technically intended for single servings, but I find that they're easily large enough to hold one side dish each without becoming awkwardly heavy. The fact that they're dishwasher- and microwave-safe is an added bonus.
Perhaps an even better bonus is their price: just $5.95 for one bowl:

Cool bowl, but I want to know whats IN the bowl! It looks fantastic!
thanks! im in the same boat, often i end up serving food on extra dinner plates or mixing bowls, which doesn't always do a meal i spent hours making justice! Ive been looking to buy some white versatile serving ware but have been put off by prices. These look pretty afordable! too bad we don't have a cb2 nearby...
AGREED on the fact that food looks best on white dinnerware :D

they were on a mega sale when we got them, though still not as cheap as the CB2 ones, but still work well for serving pasta, especially at our latest dinner party. see here:

I bought four of the CB bowls and loved them so much that I bought more just in case they stopped selling them. Luckily they don't chip as easily as my other CB plates.

I bought six of these for my new house and they are great. I hate eating pasta or soup in a crowded bowl. I need room to move ingredients around without fear of sloshing it out of the bowl. I love the presentation of having a serving of pasta in a giant bowl. These are GREAT pasta bowls. I love the size and kind of wish they were even larger.
@adamwa - Hardly anybody has a CB2 store nearby. There are only a handful of locations. Try ordering online, using the "Internet"
