This time of year I have to actively remind myself I have plenty of mugs in the cupboard already. I just want to cup my hands around something warm, and every halfway-inviting mug just calls out my name. This one is my latest favorite: A sleek, cozy shape with a clever lid to keep your coffee hot.
I love that lovely little bamboo coaster and lid; I am always casting about for the right size of tea plate to clap on top of my mug between sips. (I really like to keep my beverages hot!) This little lid keeps the cup and its contents warmer, and serves as a coaster too.

I have these, but in grey: http://image.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/i/j/soup_s08050411
Similar function, but your find seems better to warm ones hands on. I love pouring myself a cup of tea after the kids have gone to bed, bring a small muffin or cookie on the plate and enjoy some quiet time on the sofa.
Mugs with lids are very common here in Hong Kong. Some of my colleagues use Hello Kitty mugs! (Cartoons are also very popular. Not at all childish here.)
Seems like they would work well to keep your cabinets organized as well. The coaster/lid would allow you to stack them nicely without any tilting.
I have some of these at home, but it might be time to take a trip to Daiso to pick up a cute one for work. I could really use something to brighten my 9-5.
We use those in Germany to cover glasses of apple wine in the summer. The bees love it and there's nothing worse than going for a sip of wine and finding bugs in it. I hadn't thought to use them for coffee, although I think my mugs are too wide for the ones I have. Sigh.
I couldn't find any info on how many ounces it holds. Do you know?
