We have this bad habit of not thinking about baking or cooking for a holiday (or a birthday) until it is two days away, and it's too late to order anything fun and special for decorating the cake. Well, we're trying to think ahead for Halloween, and we have our eye (or is that eyeball?) on these fun sugar decorations from King Arthur Flour.
Little sugar decorations like these make it super-easy to bake something fun for a holiday. Just make a cake or a batch of basic cookies, and put a few of these eyeballs or monsters on top. Tada! Halloween is here.
• Eye Sugar Decorations, $4.95 for 32 pieces
• Monster Sugar Decorations, $4.95 for 6
• Pumpkin Sugar Decorations, $4.95 for 12
Do you have any big baking plans for Halloween this year? It's still over 2 week away so there's plenty of time to plan...

I picked up a bat cookie cutter, and have been experimenting with a new chocolate wafer recipe, so I'll be making brown-black bat cookies for a friend's Halloween party. (Last year, I had no flour in the house the night before the party, so I made ghost meringues and cocoa meringue bats.)
I'll make tiny meringues to dot with food coloring and use as eyes; I love the sugar ones, but I can't be bothered to order 'em.
Those little monsters are so cute, they'd be great on cookies or cupcakes.
Oh so true! Thanks for the reminder! These decorations are very cute.
