One of San Francisco's oldest and longest-standing food markets is Molinari, which has been around since 1896. Since then, Molinari has been making some of the tastiest salamis and selling Italian groceries at their market in North Beach.
Molinari distributes their salamis locally throughout the Bay Area. I'm particularly enamored with their Finocchiona salame, which is a dry-cured pork salami with fennel seeds. They also make sopressata, hot salame, coppa, pancetta, and sausages.
The store in North Beach sells all kinds of prepared Italian foods, sandwiches, Italian wines, olive oil, pasta, cheese, and other Italian delicacies. If you're looking for an Italian food ingredient, you'll most likely find it at Molinari.

How funny... I looked at this picture and was immediately taken back to a sandwich I'd purchased at this very deli, over 2 years ago now, when I was living near San Francisco. Never knew the deli's name or that it was as renowned as it apparently is... but damn, do I remember that sandwich.
My mouth is watering.
this is the best spot in north beach! they make the most amazing sandwiches, and i love that you can choose your very own bread roll for it!
I've been here many times and always enjoyed the meets, olive oils, breads and wines... along with the true Italians that work there, and live in the community. The Best!
