Mint Hill Apiary: Locally-Grown San Francisco Honey

Did you know that there's a beekeeper right in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco that produces honey? Well, now you do!

Mint Hill Apiary is a small-producing honey maker that has hives in the Castro neighborhood. The bees collect pollen from local trees, so the honey isn't from a single flower source. Since San Francisco has a mild climate, there are blooming plants year-round, which means Mint Hill produces honey almost all year long.

They sell their wares at the local farmer's markets, Bi-Rite Market, Rainbow Grocery, and online.

If you want to learn about beekeeping, Mint Hill also offers special classes.
