Purchasing a fixer upper is so exciting but also costs a lot of money. Michele and Ryan are approaching it in two phases — not so costly and very costly. During phase one they've actually been able to do quite a lot on a very reasonable budget.
Craigslist and eBay played a huge roll in being able to create the home they've always dreamed of without having to spend a ton of money. Their open space kitchen left them wanting a little more counter space so they turned to Craigslist to find an island. They found an old craft table from a school that works perfectly in the space. Cabinet pulls and the chandelier were found on eBay and the rug was another Craigslist find!
It's not everyday you see a green kitchen, especially a darker green but because they removed the cabinet doors and painted the trim white — it really works. It doesn't make the space feel small like one would assume — it adds a ton of charm. The white backsplash and large farmhouse sink certainly help in the charm department as well.
