We certainly appreciate the most modern of kitchens, but we also really love laid back and relaxed kitchens. Kitchens that make you want to throw on an old school apron and start mixing up cake mixes while channeling Ina Garten. Kitchens that look like a much needed breath of fresh air.
That much needed breath of fresh air is Michael's laid back cottage kitchen. Every bit of it is refreshing, from the color palette to the cabinet choices — we're loving it.
There's not a more winning color for the kitchen than a pale blue-green. It's calming, relaxing and inspiring all at the same time. It makes you want to cook, and it certainly pairs well with white cabinets and brushed nickel hardware.
Tthis kitchen has been brought back to life, and it was given a facelift to bring it back to its former glory. Michael describes his style as laid back cottage. California and granny chic are also apparent in this kitchen. He said he's attracted to vintage style pieces with a slightly worn look. His kitchen looks lived in and vintage, but not dated or drab. It's bright, fun and inspiring.
Michael accessorized the kitchen beautifully. The pots that line the top of the cabinets, the perfectly colored artwork as well as the Tolix Chairs (replicas of the Marais A chair, my personal favorite chair!).

love love love the wall color!
I echo the sentiment of that wall color. We used it in our kitchen, as well, as have been very pleased.
I love light kitchens! They feel cleaner. Looks like something I would do!
